Ikorodu Students Celebrate Media Personality, Kunle Adelabu For Community Journalism Standard, Mentorship

Students across the Ikorodu Division have joined hundreds of others in acknowledging the outstanding contributions of Kunle Adelabu, Publisher/Reporter – in – Chief, THE IMPACT newspaper, for his professionalism in community journalism, advancement of good governance and mentorship.

The students under the aegis of the National Association of Ikorodu Division Students (NAIDS) and the Igbogbo Students’ Union (ISU) gave the commendations in separate statement while commemorating the reporter’s birthday on August 4th.

In a statement from NAIDS signed by the NAIDS President and Public Relations Officer, Comrades Ogunbowale Olatayo Bodunrin and Ogunyemi Olayinka Oladipupo respectively, the union acknowledged The IMPACT Newspaper publisher’s community development efforts through professional journalism practice, his mentorship and advocacy for good governance:

“On behalf of the National Association of Ikorodu Division Students (NAIDS-NATIONAL), we heartily celebrate a media icon, a visionary leader. Mr. Kunle Adejare Adelabu, the CEO of The IMPACT NEWS.

“Your dedication to journalism, community development, and truth-driven reporting has elevated the standards of local news media and given a powerful voice to the people of Ikorodu Division and beyond.

“Through The IMPACT NEWS, you have consistently championed transparency, civic responsibility, and youth development.

“You are more than a media professional— you are a mentor, an advocate for good governance, and a beacon of hope for aspiring communicators. Your relentless commitment to objective storytelling and civic engagement has empowered communities, informed policies, and inspired progress.”

The umbrella body for the entire students in Ikorodu Division also thanked the publisher for his support especially in the promotion of educational development in Ikorodu Division.

“As you celebrate another remarkable year, we extend our warmest wishes for a life filled with continued success, sound health, divine favour, and boundless joy. May your vision expand, your influence grow stronger, and may your work continue to leave a lasting mark across our land.

“NAIDS NATIONAL is proud to identify with you, and we remain grateful for your consistent support and partnership in promoting education, accountability, and the empowerment of young people.

“May your days be long, your dreams fulfilled, and your impact even greater in the years ahead. Keep shining and keep inspiring!” the body congratulates the celebrant.

On their own, members of one of the oldest and still sustained Student Union bodies in the country, described the reporter as a media icon, who has consistently spoken for the community.

“Happy birthday to a media icon, Mr. Kunle Adelabu.

“On behalf of the entire members of the Igbogbo Students’ Union, we extend our heartfelt wishes to a man of excellence, a seasoned media guru, and a consistent voice for community development, Mr. Kunle Adelabu, Publisher of The IMPACT Newspaper.”

In a statement by the union, the support and partnership of the publisher for their activities were also highlighted.

“Today, we do not just celebrate your new age, but also your unwavering support and dedication to our cause.

“You have consistently projected our union to the world, giving coverage to our programmes and initiatives without demanding anything in return.

“Your generosity, ideas, and constant words of encouragement have strengthened our resolve to keep pushing forward.
